Racial Inclusion
Building a school where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued
About
Racial inclusion is a workshop designed to discuss concept of racism and the impact it has on
minority groups. It focuses on three key areas- what is racism, what is the impact that racism has on victims and the school community, and how to take action to eliminate racism and be an ally to those who are the target of racism within the school.
The workshop is tailored to the needs of students and the school community. It is both practical and based on sound research and addresses the need for inclusion and student wellbeing. This program can be stand alone or linked to our professional learning program on racial inclusion for educators and non-teaching teams. The design sprint to combat racism is the third element of Value Learning’s suite of racism programs.
This workshop is aligned with the Australian Curriculum, specifically the general capabilities of intercultural understanding, ethical understanding and personal and social capability. It is also aligned with the learning on diversity, identity, and social justice.
