Maximise Your Study Tour
Intercultural Skill-Building Pre-Departure and Post-Return
About
International study tours offer rich opportunities for growth, but cultural immersion alone isn’t enough. Without guided preparation and reflection, students can miss deeper learning—or worse, reinforce stereotypes. This program supports students before and after their study tour, helping them develop the intercultural awareness and skills they need to navigate cultural differences with empathy, curiosity, and confidence.
Before departure, students explore culture, identity, communication styles, and gain practical tools to manage uncertainty and connect across differences. On return, they reflect on their experiences, make sense of challenges and successes, and apply their learning to future academic, personal, and professional contexts.
Students also complete the Intercultural Effectiveness Scale (IES) and reflection surveys before and after their experience, tracking their development and identifying key takeaways for long-term impact.
Workshops are interactive, age-appropriate, and aligned to the Australian Curriculum. They can be delivered in person or online.
